Staffordshire tech-firm launches Careers Club initiative

Since 2005, risual Limited has gone from strength to strength and become not just one of Staffordshire’s finest technology specialists but also one of Microsoft’s premier global partners, regularly entrusted by organisations across the UK and beyond to help them maximise the potential of their IT investments.

Priding themselves on doing things a little differently, the founders – Alun Rogers and Richard Proud – were determined to go that bit further in 2020 and, in response to COVID-19, have set about accelerating some of their plans.

That has seen the business working with the Charity Commission to establish a charitable foundation which they are in the final stages of concluding and this week saw them launch its first initiative the launch of a Careers Club.

Now employing over 100 people, the company is looking to play its part in the region’s economic recovery in the aftermath of COVID-19. One of the risual Foundation’s first acts will be to launch a Careers Club with a focus on helping getting people back on their feet and back into work.

risual co-founder/owner and risual Foundation Trustee, Richard Proud had this to say:

We set out at the start of the year to set up and establish an initiative which could make a positive impact, not just here in Staffordshire where we are based but hopefully across a wider region.

The Careers Club was an idea that our Foundation members were keen to do in light of COVID-19 and hopefully, using our knowledge and experiences, we can play our part in helping get people back into work and even perhaps help those would-be entrepreneurs launch their own businesses.”

The announcement from risual coincides with unemployment claims on the rise both at a national level and across the West Midlands and growing concern that redundancies may be about to rise further over the coming months. .

The risual Careers Club is building on the tried and tested formula of the job club initiatives we saw in the last economic crisis and although much of the service will have to be done remotely for the time being although the risual Foundation is looking to bring about face-to-face appointments as soon as possible.
