LEP supports inward investment drive
The Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire LEP has agreed to provide up to £30,000 towards the cost of representing the area at Europe’s largest property investment conference later this year.
More than 21,000 investors, developers and leading figures from the local government and regeneration sectors are expected to attend the annual MIPIM event in Cannes, in the south of France, from March 10-13.
Senior figures from Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Staffordshire County Council and the LEP will be among delegates attending the conference as part of the Make It Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire inward investment team.
The Make It team will showcase a range of key development and employment sites in the city and county to potential investors and developers. They will be joined by representatives from local firms, who will be able to use the Make It exhibition and hospitality facilities for meetings and events.
David Frost, chairman of the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire LEP, said: “Following on from the success of the inaugural MIPIM UK event in October, MIPIM 2015 offers an unrivalled opportunity to talk to some of the most influential players in the property business about the exciting plans which are taking shape in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.
“Across the LEP area, we are seeing a surge of interest in the development opportunities and the unique strengths and natural competitive advantages that we have to offer in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. This funding will help to give our inward investment team the best possible head start to enable them to exploit those advantages and secure vital inward investment and jobs for the area.â€
