Triage Service ready as furlough ends
People and businesses affected by the Covid-19 crisis and the end of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme are being urged to find out more about a package of support put in place by the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership and partner organisations.
Coordinated by the National Careers Service, the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Triage Service is there for any individual in the region that may be at risk of or have been made redundant, or are just thinking about changing careers to a more stable job in a growth sector.
The triage service is also there for employers who need to make changes to their workforce and want to signpost their employees to help to find new work in the local growth sectors.
LEP chairman Alun Rogers said:
‘’Now really is the time to contact the triage service – whether you’re someone that needs to get straight back into work, or just thinks it might be time to start exploring alternative careers. There are local jobs immediately available, but for many being at risk or being made redundant can be a real shock. The qualified advisors at the National Careers Service can help you put the pieces together and help you with everything you need from identifying your transferable skills to interview practice and even finding jobs in the digital world. Whilst jobs are sadly being lost, new jobs and opportunities being created all the time in more stable sectors – and more people have the skills and experience they need than they realise.
The triage service can also help businesses – whether you need to make staff redundant, or have experience growth and need to fill job vacancies quick. Experienced advisors can help you support your staff through one-to one support, careers planning and employment and learning advice, as well as match them to new jobs in sectors experiencing demand.
We do expect that we may see more redundancies as the furlough scheme comes to an end, but the LEP’s confidential Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Triage Service is ready and waiting to help right now.’’
The fully-funded bespoke service includes:
- help to explore the current jobs market, including those jobs in high-demand sectors and match people to job roles
- help to identify people’s skills and qualities, with particular attention to their transferable skills
- support and training in effective and tailored CVs
- interview practice and preparation
- help to find and apply for jobs in a digital world and adapt to new ways of working
- help to identify and support to access learning opportunities and any training needed
