The Skills Advisory Panel Board Skills Strategy

The Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SSLEP) has a key role in driving economic growth and job creation across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire through the delivery of its ambitious Local industrial Strategy.

A fundamental aspect of this is to ensure that the skills offer supports economic growth and increased productivity. This position is highlighted even further following the emerging impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the economic and skills landscape.

We have developed a SSLEP Employment & skills strategy led by the Skills Advisory Panel (SAP) to drive this improvement and help deliver the skills required for our future success.

The strategy is underpinned by a suite of supporting documents and evidence on the SAP website https://www.stokestaffslep.org.uk/skilled-workforce/education-trust/ The SAP is led by a management board that includes representatives from businesses, educators, providers, local authorities, and the voluntary sector, working together to deliver and agreed vision and priorities, alongside a detailed implementation plan.

This SAP strategy will be considered a working document, which is regularly reviewed and updated in consultation with our partners.
